MORNING LIGHT
The shroud of morning fog gives focus to pieces of the landscape that is closest to you. From morning walks to ferry rides these are constant views in my life. I am intrigued by how the light plays in the fog or low clouds with foreground objects being so prominent. Playing with cold wax and oil paint I add between nine and fifteen layers in varying shades to capture the density of it all and to give a hint of what lies beyond. All the while I am playing with shape and colour to make the horizon dance. If there is a reflection involved, well, all the better.
